Pear Sauce in Green Tea
2-4
firm pears (Bosc or Asian as Shinsei), peeled,
cored and cut in small squares
½ to 1 cup apple juice (natural, no added
sugar)
½ to 1t Edilble Green ground green tea
¼ teaspoon of Cinnamon (or several shakes)
1 t butter
1 t fresh lemon juice and zest to taste
1 -2 light brown sugar or favorite sugar
substitute
Optional:
½ t Fruit Fresh will keep pears from browning
too soon.
Combine all ingredients in small pot.
Cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes (do
not let pears get too soft).
Refrigerate in glass jar and use pears in
"winter salad", over yogurt or
vanilla ice cream for quick desert or whole
grain buttermilk pancakes or Swedish pancakes.
To serve over whole grain buttermilk pancakes
or Swedish pancakes add a few tablespoons
of butter and maple syrup with the pears,
warm up and pour on top of pancakes, incredible!
